BIOPSY AND EXCISION OF LESIONS

Biopsies are taken to confirm the presence of skin cancer. Small biopsies are often taken to confirm non-melanoma skin cancers whereas larger excisional biopsies are taken to conrm melanoma skin cancers.

SKIN CANCER TREATMENT

Treatment for skin cancer will depend on a number of factors:

  • The type of skin cancer
  • The size and location of the skin cancer
  • Whether the skin cancer has spread (metastasized) to other parts of the body.

Our doctor will discuss with you a definitive treatment plan. A range of surgical and nonsurgical treatments are available at our clinic and through our well-connected specialist group.

At least 2 in 3 Australians will be diagnosed with skin cancer before the age of 70.
